Therapeutic Counselling & Coaching

A calm, reflective space to pause, think clearly and reconnect with yourself.

If you're feeling overwhelmed, exhausted or stuck, you don't have to carry it on your own. I offer a supportive, confidential space where you can talk openly, gain clarity and begin to move forward in a way that feels manageable and sustainable.

I'm Lindsey Jane Shaw

A psyco-therapeutic counsellor and life coach with a first class honours degree in Counselling Psychology. I am registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy & Coachng Division) . I am also a GDC registered dental health professional (hygienist) and have been practising for over 30 years.

I have a passion for helping women of dentistry create balance, protect energy, and thrive in both their careers and personal lives. Having seen first-hand the pressures and relentless demands placed on dental professionals I know how easy it is to feel exhausted, overwhelmed and disconnected from yourself, which is why I began a journey of self discovery. I sought professional help for my mental health, and realised the value it gave me.

I saw a gap in mental health support for women in dentistry, so I decided to train to become a mental health professional so I can help women like you who share the same dentistry background who would just 'get' what you are going through, and help you to take action to transform your life!

My Mission

My mission is to empower and support women's mental health in dentistry, to protect their energy, set healthy boundaries, and create lasting balance, so they can thrive in their careers and lives with confidence, resilience and joy!

Struggling with Challenges in Dentistry?

Constant Exhaustion and Overwhelm

Dental professionals often give their all yet still feel drained and unable to keep up with endless demands.

Struggling to Switch Off After Work

Even at home, your mind races about patients and practice demands, making it hard to relax or enjoy time with loved ones.

Difficulty Saying No

Whether it’s patients, colleagues, or family, you often overcommit and feel guilty putting yourself first, pushing you closer to burnout.

Lost Passion for Dentistry

What once excited you now feels heavy, leaving you concerned it’s costing your health, happiness, and relationships.

Physical Tension and Stress

Neck, back, and jaw pain, headaches, and poor sleep have become routine, draining your energy and focus.

A Calm, Reflective Space

A private and welcoming environment designed to help you slow down and talk openly

Sessions take place in a private consulting room designed to offer a calm and reflective environment away from the pressures of everyday life.

Filled with natural light and surrounded by greenery, the space provides a sense of privacy and quiet, helping you feel more at ease as you begin to talk.

The room is intentionally simple and comfortable, creating a setting where you can slow down, think clearly and explore what is happening for you without distraction.

Access is via a separate entrance, with parking available

Additional Support & Programmes

Alongside one-to-one sessions, I also offer additional support options for those who would like a more structured approach. My programmes are designed to complement therapeutic work and provide further guidance, tools, and a clearer framework over a defined period of time.

From Burnout To Balance

A Proven Method That Actually Works With Your Life, Not Against It

A 12-week programme designed to support professionals experiencing burnout, helping you to create balance, set boundaries and reconnect with yourself in a more sustainable way.

Blending the most effective techniques from psychology, person centred therapeutic counselling, neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) and behavioural science, you'll be given tools which helps to manage stress, set healthy boundaries and rebuild confidence.

Each week you'll get 1;1 coaching calls, access to a private supportive circle; a calm, facilitated space for women taking part in the programme, designed to reduce isolation and offer optional gentle connection alongside the work we do together. By the end, you'll feel more in control, energised, and equipped to thrive in your career - without sacrificing your wellbeing.

The 3-Step Journey to Emotional Freedom and Resilience

Creating lasting change becomes easier when you follow a clear, proven path.

Pause, Protect, Prioritise

Learn to slow down, recognize burnout signs, and protect your time and energy. Identify what truly matters and make simple changes to restore balance and wellbeing without guilt.

Balance, Boundaries, Belief

Set healthy boundaries, build supportive habits, and strengthen your mindset to balance dentistry with life, restoring clarity, confidence, and purpose

Restore, Resilience, Renew

Develop resilience to life’s pressures, restore confidence, and renew your joy in dentistry with lasting habits that keep you strong, balanced, and fulfilled.

Choosing the Right Support

You may be wondering which approach feels right for you.

One-to-One Counselling

Counselling offers a space to explore what is happening in your life at your own pace. It is open-ended and led by you,

allowing time for reflection, understanding and deeper exploration of your thoughts, feelings and experiences.

This may feel right if you would like a more flexible and reflective approach..

Structured Programme

The 12-week programme offers a more structured way of working, combining therapeutic reflection with practical tools

and guidance over a defined period of time. It provides a clearer framework and additional support, which may feel

helpful if you prefer a more guided approach.

Not Quite Ready to Begin?

If you're unsure which option feels right, we can explore this together during an intitial conversation.

If you're not quite ready to begin, that's completely okay. You might prefer to start with something gentle and supportive.
